I was craving for brick-oven pizza and Gino's did not disappoint. I first tried the Mushroom Pizza because I love mushrooms. It was so creamy and savory. The crust was soft and chewy. After 3 days, I tried the Margherita with Fresh Mozarella. Crust was still soft and chewy and the sauce greatly complimented the fresh mozarella. Yummmm !

So I heard Gino is the husband of Cello (the doughnut store beside it)...adorable :3 This restaurant is great for meat lovers and vegetarians for their menu options. Their interior is great for pairs or small groups, but might have limited seats for larger groups. My personal pick is their Blanca verde pizza and Burrata caprese (because I love cheese). The spicy honey is the best sauce that complements most of their pizzas (must try!). Their dessert is also a winner especially their crack pie and Nutella soup (what sorcery is this?!). I'm glad they have a branch along Katipunan that I will surely visit again some time soon. :)

Just had a sumptious dinner with friends at Gino's. One thing that I love about this restaurant is their Menu. Gino's menu was straightforward, uncomplicated menu. It makes it easier for an undecisive person like me to choose. Ordered Burrata caprese, Burrata with house salad, salted egg pasta, 5 kinds of pizzas: pesto, SMEGG, buffalo chicken, bomb and Bianca verde. For dessert, we got to try crack pie, nutella soup, and chocolate salami Overall we had a good dining experience and we cannot wait to go back!

Gino's Brick Oven Pizza is the closest thing to proper Italian pizza I have tasted in Manila! You must try their famous Burrata. They make it themselves! Also, you must try the Salted Egg pasta. Your pizzas came out very quickly - from watching it being made to bubbling and melting away in the wood fire oven. Don't forget to put the Spicy Honey! It just bring all the flavors together. I have bottles of it at home. Completely changed the way I eat pizza :)

Gino's Brick Oven Pizza is somewhat out of the way for most students along Katipunan, but it's definitely worth a visit when you're craving for some good pizza and are tired of the usual Shakey's and Pizza Hut. It's a little costly on a student's allowance, but the food matches the price when it comes to taste. The restaurant has been raved online, and for good reason. People just can't get enough of the spicy honey sauce, me included! When I went there I split a Sausage Pizza and Salted Egg Pasta with my brother, and it did not disappoint! The dishes cost only around 500 between the two of us. The ingredients were fresh and they were cooked to perfection. I'm not a fan of salted egg but the pasta really changed my mind! It was a bit hard going back to non-brick oven pizza afterwards, and I'm still recuperating, I think. Totally trying the SMEGG (sausage, mushroom, and egg) pizza and Aglio Olio that people keep talking about next time!

Masarap sa Gino's. There's no debating that and I've yet to meet anybody who's tried it that didn't like it but I have to warn you: their food is rich. That being said, if you're watching your calorie intake or your blood pressure is through the roof, you should probably head elsewhere. Otherwise, dig in! Their homemade cheese here is AMAZING so I highly suggesting starting your meal off with that. Their pastas and pizzas are off the charts as well so just go with whatever flavors or tastes float your boat at the moment. Service here is good.

Make sure you don't miss out on this restaurant right towards the end of the bustling Katipunan strip! It's easy to get overshadowed by all the new spots in Katip but thankfully Gino's food stands strong up against all the others. The place has been there for a while actually, popping up right beside its sister (wife?) restaurant, Cello's. (I think the story is that Cello and Gino are actually husband and wife? I'm not sure, but seems like a pretty cute backstory!) The best thing about Gino's is it serves your basic little Italian/American cafe fare-- your pizzas, pastas, and antipasti-- but in a fresh, unique way. These are not your regular classic pepperoni pizzas or bolognese pastas, but that's not to say they're overly complicated artisan dishes. In fact, what's stark is how simple yet good the dishes are that they should be new classics! Their brick oven pizzas are some of the best around Manila right now, with kinds like the "BOMB" pizza (balsamic onion-mushroom-blue cheese-mozzarella), the "SMEGG" pizza (sausage-mushroom-eggs-gouda-cream), and the Prosciutto (tomato sauce-prosciutto-kesong puti-parmesan-arugula). That's another thing to appreciate about Gino's-- they don't scrimp on cheese! If you're a cheese-lover, you're gonna enjoy it here, especially given that they have a whole homemade cheese menu. It's not the widest range of cheeses, but they focus on specialties like their burrata, served in different ways. Everyone's favorite is the Burrata Caprese! A perfect starter to your meal. My only drawback would be the serving sizes, but taste goes down as something solid.

Every Sunday after having a hearty (busogg) lunch, my sister, her boyfriend and I always (we have no idea why) look for merienda! We don't even give ourselves time to digest we're already looking for the next thing to stuff down our throats. One of those times we decided to check out Gino's in Katipunan because my brother was craving for pizza and he hardly ever comes along. If you don't know where it is, you just might miss it, it's right above Mercury Drugstore, the sign is pretty small. The restaurant was very simple, very casual which gave way to the star of the meal, the food! We first tried the burrata, locally made, it was delicious! My family and I always try to bring this ball of baby mozarella in every time we find it abroad only to find that the locally made one was good too! On that alone I was sold until the pizzas came! It lived up to all the hype that I kept hearing about. Go for lunch, merienda or dinner, you'll be glad you did!
